St. Anthony Catholic Parish in Dubuque, Iowa invited "My Hearing Loop" to set up a demonstration in early April to learn about the benefits of loops. Enthusiastic parishioners also participated. Father Steve Rosonke and Business Manager Jim Henkels recognized the need to help parishioners who suffered from the "invisible disability" of hearing loss. The church also wanted to reach out to the community to be inclusive and accessible for all who wear hearing aids or have cochlear implants. Within a matter of days, the crew of "My Hearing Loop were boring holes through the 36" thick limestone foundation and installing 1600' of hearing loop wire under the Sanctuary floor and above the ceiling in O'Mallory Fellowship Hall. My Hearing Loop owner Mike Mair selected a large digital hearing loop driver that created a safe and high performing magnetic field for the audio to connect wirelessly with T-coils in parishioners hearing aids. The Sanctuary has full hearing loop coverage that meets the global IEC Standard and O-Mallory Hall also has full hearing loop coverage.
